This was written after a rehearsal for Twelfth Night. While a comedy, Viola's story is tragic. Orphaned at a young age, she must face the world with her twin brother, until, he too is taken from her in storm. Shipwrecked and forced to disguise herself as a man, Viola must navigate frivolous court romances while managing her own feelings of grief and affection. The actress played this duality with such honesty and authority that it inspired this in me.
